Yfile Article - AIA Meeting, 16/02/2016

York University published an article through YFile in regards to the first prize poster presented by York's team at this year's Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) conference held in San Francisco from January 6-9, 2016.

The article focuses on the success of York University's undergraduate students who presented the poster at the conference, as well as Dr. Sinner's excavation project on which the poster's research is based on.

Following York University students’ participation in the Poster Session at the Annual AIA Meeting held in San Francisco from January 6 - 9, 2016, the AIA Toronto Society invited the winners of the Best Poster Award to comment on their success and involvement with the Ilduro research project in their annual 2016 Winter Newsletter.

The article outlines the students’ experiences with the excavations in May and June 2015, as well as their attendance at the AIA Annual Meeting and the evolution of the project’s award-winner poster and its research.

The Toronto Star published an article under their discovery and innovation content displaying the experiential learning opportunities that were accorded York University students who participated in the archaeological dig this past summer of 2015.

The article illuminates some of the benefits students experienced from taking learning outside of the traditional classroom setting and having the ability to immerse themselves in archaeological experiences that were beyond compare.

Yfile Article - Excavation in Spain, 09/07/2015

York University’s Communications and Public Affairs Division published an article through YFile about the fifteen history students who travelled to Spain in the summer of 2015 to participate in the first campaign of excavations.

The article discusses the value of experiencing the discipline of archaeology in a broader and more hands-on context whilst also featuring commentary from students who had the opportunity to work on the dig site.
